DIY Copier Disposal

Some guidelines for DIY copier disposal, it takes between 3-6 hours to completely dismantle if you are fast.


All copiers dissassemble with a phillips screwdriver powered or not and mayba a small flat screwdiver.

Gloves, eye protection and dust mask advised for this job.

Remove any configuration settings for data saftey.
Turn power off at swtch then at the wall as well.
Unplug power lead and add to metal pile for recycling.
Remove hard drive and destroy or wipe drive.
Remove any toners, drums and waste tanks and send to cartridge recycling or wrap/bag and seal and dispose of in general waste.
Remove and dissassemble into components, then individual parts. 
Sort parts out between plastics and metals.
Send metal to recycling.
Send plastics to recycling if availailable, check with your local council.
